A Colonial meets mid century modern in Valatie

When Mari and Dan first reached out to me they mentioned, that the'd like to get as much done before moving day.They were moving from a much smaller home, into a colonial so we'd have to come up with a plan. Upon the first step into their current home i was struck by their love of color and plants. One of the priorities was finding a home for all of their plants, the other, Art! They were collectors and each piece held a special meaning. First up, deciding what they could reuse from their current home and where we would need to start fresh. Next a tour of the new home and discussion on all that would need to change, including the existing wall to wall carpet in the dining and living areas. We would also need to add crown mouldings throughout, hardwood flooring and a fun runner for the stairs. Turned out Dan was very handy and did quite a bit of the work himself. I showed Mari the teal-printed, tropical fabric and it was love at first site. So Teal it would be and we built from there.
